About Finders Keepers Quartet

Finders Keepers has been making harmony and misbehaving together for several years.

Many things about barbershop harmony resonate with us personally, and each of us has our own story about how we got involved.

Karen Williams - Tenor

RU smarter than a 5th grader?  Karen definitely is!  She is an assistant 5th grade teacher, & her teen-age daughter keeps her up-2-date on the latest in texting/pinging.  Karen sang with Vienna-Falls Chorus from Virginia when they won the International competition in 1988, so she has a big, shiny gold medal that she wears proudly and often!  She also sang with Region 14's 1983 champion quartet, Independent Party.

Cindy Shook - Lead

Cindy joined the Queen Charlotte chorus when she was but a child, in 1974.  She has directed the chorus since 1987, and has earned the title of Master Director.  She sang bass with Esprit D' Corps quartet when they won Region 14's competition in 1987 and competed at International in Hawaii that year.  After singing bass for 30 years, she decided to expand her vocal repertoire and sing lead with Finders Keepers.  She loves shopping and hates blonde jokes, mainly because they confuse her!

Vickey Collom - Baritone

Vickey got hooked on barbershop music and began attending the rehearsals of the Gold Standard Men's Barbershop Chorus in North Carolina, where she met her husband.  It was quite a while before she discovered that women sing barbershop too!  She originally lived in Mint Hill, a small town close to Charlotte, but she grew tired of "city" living and now hails from Pageland, SC.  She lives "out in the sticks" in watermelon country where her closest neighbor is a herd of cows!  She has been a member of the Queen Charlotte chorus since 1986 and has been the baritone section leader for 16 years.  She is also the assistant director.   She sang with Starlight Express and IT Takes Four quartets before joining Finders Keepers.

Becky Wilkins - Bass

You might think Becky was born singing "bum bum bum", but she has actually sung the baritone and lead parts too!  Becky first heard a barbershop chorus when she was a college student.  She sang with Prairie Winds Chorus in Lubbock, Texas, and Crystal Collection quartet, for over twenty years.  Crystal Collection competed in regional contest every year, and earned the right to compete internationally five times.  In 2005, Becky's husband was transferred to Huntersville, NC.  Before they moved halfway across the country, Becky found the Queen Charlotte chorus on the internet, and was ready to attend rehearsal in Charlotte the week after she arrived in North Carolina.  A few months later Finders Keepers was born!  Becky loves Mexican food and Diet Dr. Pepper, and her mini-laptop; but she hates chocolate.  And she always seems to find a way to mention how they do it bigger and better in Texas!
